Sambalpur, April 1: The dancing bear of Sambalpur deer park ‘Eliza’ that attracted children, died on Wednesday morning.
Eliza was a sixteen-year-old female bear that used to reside inside Sambalpur Deer Park on the outskirt of the city. It was amusing the visitors with its slow march and magnificent dance. Especially, it was very fond of dancing with the mobile music played by children. That is why the deer park was a special attraction for the kids for years.
As Eliza is no more, the park has a deserted look since yesterday. Eliza was rescued by Rairakhole forest officials sixteen years ago who was beside her mother’s carcass when she was one month’s baby. Since then Eliza had been living as an inmate in the deer park’s enclosure.
