Bhubaneswar: The Sikandar buzz is growing bigger. With ten days still to go, the Salman starred magnum opus has started climbing up in the popularity rating.
The movie makers till date have released 3 songs and one teaser. The trailer of the film is going to be released on March 23. The trailer will be under 2 minutes, reports suggest.
Before the release of the trailer, in the IMDb popularity chart, the Salman Khan starred movie has started trending at the top with over 23% popular votes.
As the buzz is getting louder, here is a sneak-peek on what would be the box office potential of Sikandar.
SIKANDAR’S BOX OFFICE POTENTIAL
The moot question before all cine watchers is will the Salman Khan comeback movie go for a roaring opener on Day 1?
Well, the trailer will drop the big hint on March 23.
However, film analyst and critic Sumit Kadel has put out his analysis on potential trade at BO by Sikandar.
Based on the teaser,3 songs released and the buzz, it seems certain that on March 30, the release day (Sunday), it is expected to make a strong start.
- Sunday (Opening Day): Expected to start strong with at least Rs30-35 Cr, and if the trailer is good, it could go beyond Rs40 Cr+.
- Monday (Eid Holiday): Could see a massive jump, collecting Rs 45-50 Cr (if word-of-mouth is positive).
- No matter what, the first 2-day total for this Salman Khan starrer will be around Rs70-80 Cr nett
- And if the film is received well, it could go beyond Rs 90 Cr.
AR MURUGADOSS REVEALS SIKANDAR PLOT
In a interview to an entertainment site, the director of the film Sikandar, AR Murugadoss, said:
“Initially, people thought Ghajini was just an action but the love story became its emotional core. Similarly, Sikandar has that surprise element. It is an intense, relatable husband-wife story at its heart.”
SALMAN LOVED SIKANDAR SCRIPT INSTANTLY
Director of repute AR Murugadoss revealed that he was trying to make a film with Salman Khan since 2006.
In the interview, ARM said, “Sikandar marks my first collaboration with Salman Khan. Initially, I approached Salman for Ghajini in 2006, but things didn’t work out.”
He revealed, “I met him before Ghajini, and again multiple times with different scripts, but it just never worked out. Finally, Sajid sir called me, and this opportunity happened.”
ARM recalled how Salman instantly connected with the Sikandar script.
He said, “I first narrated it to Sajid sir, and then we both went to meet Salman sir. He loved it. We initially asked for his dates in 2025, but he was so excited that he rescheduled another project to start shooting immediately.”
Alongside Salman Khan, Sikandar stars Rashmika Mandanna in the lead role. The film also features Sathyaraj and Prateik Babbar as the antagonists.
SIKANDAR FILM RUN TIME REVEALED
In the interview, Director AR Murugadoss confirmed that the film’s edit is complete.
He shared, “The first half of Sikandar runs for about 1 hour 15 minutes, while the second half is 1 hour 5 minutes, making it a total of 2 hours 20 minutes.”
The excitement is building as the trailer is set to drop on March 23. Murugadoss assured that the trailer will meet the expectations of Salman’s fans.
He added, “With the trailer, we have to satisfy the first-day, first-show audience – that’s our main goal. But at the same time, we also want to show that Sikandar is more than just a mass action film. It’s an entertainer with repeat value, packed with emotions.”
On the day of trailer release, the date for advance bookings for the film will also be announced.
Without unraveling the full plot, Murugadoss said, “I can’t reveal much, but it’s a mass film that will thrill Salman Sir’s fans, as well as movie lovers and families. We’ve made it for everyone.”
