As many as 70 CCTV cameras will monitor the Mandap and surrounding areas, while 100 volunteers will help manage crowds and guide devotees. Round-the-clock security arrangements will also be maintained to protect the gold and silver ornaments.
The arrangements underline the importance of ensuring that the celebrations remain peaceful, orderly and safe for visitors.
First-Time Air-Conditioning for Devotees
In a first for the Samiti, temporary air-conditioning will be installed inside the Mandap to improve visitor comfort. The initiative is intended to provide devotees with a more comfortable environment while they offer prayers and seek the blessings of Maa Durga.
Beyond the decorations and facilities, the Samiti has emphasised traditional rituals, cleanliness, crowd management and community participation as essential elements of the celebration.
A Celebration Rooted in Community Spirit
For Sahidnagar, Durga Puja is more than a religious gathering. It is also an occasion to bring communities together, celebrate Odisha’s cultural identity and strengthen the bonds between residents and visitors.
The Samiti has expressed gratitude to the state government, police, civic authorities, local residents, artists, sponsors, volunteers and devotees for their continued support. It has also welcomed the Odisha government's decision to waive ground rent for Durga Puja, Gaja Lakshmi Puja and Kali Puja, describing the move as a source of relief and encouragement for organising committees.
With its imposing Torana, traditional ornamentation, enhanced security and a new focus on visitor comfort, the Sahidnagar celebration seeks to bring together faith, heritage and public convenience in one festive setting.
The Samiti has invited devotees and visitors to experience the celebrations and seek the blessings of Maa Durga, with prayers for peace, prosperity and well-being for all.
