Bhubaneswar, April 20: Rukuna Rath Yatra of Shree Lingaraj is to be celebrated without the participation of devotees today to contain the spread of Covid cases in the state.
The chariot will be accompanied by Lord Chandrashekhar, Goddess Rukmini and Lord Basudev. The chariot will be drawn to Rameswara temple and remained there for five days.
On the fifth day, the three deities start the return journey called Bahuda. While returning the Chariot is drawn to the temple from the backside without having any turn.
The temple administration has set a ritual for the Rukuna Rath Yatra. The Mangal Arati ritual was started at 5 am in the morning and other rituals were also done.
Similarly, the Bhog Mandap ritual will start at 9.45 am and will be completed within an hour. All the rituals to the Lord will be completed between 12-12:30 pm.
Though only servitors will carry out the Rath yatra, hence during chariot pulling, the police officials also will assist the servitors.
