Cuttack, Sep 11: The members of various puja committees have sought Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s intervention over the row relating to the height of Goddess Durga’s idol.
A meeting of peace committees was held in Cuttack which discussed the restriction of public darshan and the height of the idols.
The organizing committees have demanded that the traditional darshan process should continue and the height of the idols should not be restricted.
While they have urged the state government to re-consider the decision, a time period till September 16 has been given to the government to re-consider the decision.
A meeting of the puja committees will be held on September 17, said sources.
