New Delhi/Cuttack, Sep 14: Union Education Minister and Senior BJP leader Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday appealed to various stakeholders and the state government for an amicable settlement over the restriction on the height of Goddess Durga in Cuttack.
In a series of tweets, the Union Minister said, “ Festivals have a special place in Cuttack, the historic city of Odisha. A few days ago, a controversy erupted over the Durga Puja celebrations. Discussions and agitations on the height of the idol and the rituals of worship are continuing since days.”
There are differences of opinions between the state government and organizing committees.
He also hoped for peaceful puja celebrations during the festive session.
“ It seems the Covid positive cases have declined in the state. The stakeholders should find out a peaceful way to observe Dussera after mutual discussions,” the Union Minister hoped.
