RIE, NCERT Bhubaneswar organizes conference on ‘Education in 21st Century’

Bhubaneswar, Feb 21: Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Bhubaneswar in collaboration with the National Council for Education and Research Training (NCERT), New Delhi; United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and Commonwealth Education Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA) has organized a three day international conference on ‘Education in 21st Century’ from 21st to 23rd February 2020 at the new auditorium of RIE campus. At the conference participants from India as well as abroad including educationists and researchers have come together to discuss how education can include 21st century skills that will prepare students for a globalized and evolving world so that they can take up leadership roles. Prof. Vasudha Kamat, Member of National Education Policy, Government of India, Former Vice Chancellor, SNDT University, Mumbai formally inaugurated the conference by lighting the cultural lamp and gave the keynote address. Seven panel discussions will be organized where 75 papers are going to be presented over the three days of the conference. Inaugurating the conference Prof. Vasudha Kamat said, “Organizing such type of conference worth a lot for the society. Talking about the 21st century he told about industrial revolution of 1760, 1890 and 2010 and its impact on the education system.” The conference focuses on major themes: Technology enabled learning, addressing 21st century learning, developing an integral education and making policy, process and learning outcomes meaningful. During inaugural ceremony RIE, NCERT Bhubaneswar Principal and Chairperson Prof. P. C. Agarwal said, “We hope that this conference will provide a platform for sharing knowledge and experience that can then be used by policy makers to draft a national policy to reform and revitalized the education system of our country.
