Rice laden truck overturns, woman dies in Mayurbhanj

Baripada, Jan 23: A woman died after a rice loaded truck overturned  at Puchusahi under Baripada town police limit on Sunday. Seven others are critically injured due to the mishap. The deceased has been identified as Jani Naik, wife of Duari Bhakta, a native of Kendujhari village. Sources said, at least 10 beneficiaries were carrying their PDS rice from Kendua village, on a truck. Meanwhile, at Puchusahi road, the truck went uncontrolled and overturned and became off road. As a result, most of the beneficiaries became critical. However, Jani Naik died on the spot. Locals rescued the injured ones and sent them to Pundit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital for treatment. Being informed, police initiated an investigation, reaching the spot.
