Bhubaneswar, April 7: A rice-laden lorry overturned on the interstate ghat road connecting Odisha and Andhra Pradesh in Pachipenta Mandal, Parvathipuram Manyam district, late Monday night, leading to a major traffic disruption for nearly seven kilometres. The incident occurred around 11 PM when the lorry, en route from Odisha to Andhra Pradesh, reportedly lost control due to brake failure on the steep ghat road.

The lorry fell across the road, blocking all traffic for several hours. Passengers traveling to Odisha and Chhattisgarh were left stranded, facing immense hardship throughout the night. Many of those affected were families with young children and elderly people, who struggled with the prolonged delay.

Local police arrived at the scene early Tuesday morning, and with the assistance of cranes, the overturned lorry was cleared, restoring normal traffic flow by approximately 6 AM.
