Kolkata, Oct 18: With a significant lead in the RG Kar Medical College & Hospital horror, former Principal Dr. Sandip Ghosh’s judicial custody has been extended till November 4.
According to report, the special court on Friday ordered Dr. Ghosh to continue in jail till November 4.
Dr. Sandip Ghosh and the ex-Station House Officer of Tala Police Station, Abhijit Mondal were arrested in connection with the rape and murder of a junior trainee doctor of the MCH in August 2024.
The bail petitions of both Dr. Ghosh and Mondal were rejected by the judge of the special court.
The main charges leveled against Dr. Ghosh and IIC Mondal in the rape and murder case were, misleading the investigation process and tampering with evidence.
Apart from it, the Crime Branch had also initiated an investigation against Dr Ghosh regarding financial irregularity and alleged organ trading.
Recently, the CBI submitted its first charge sheet to the special court where it identified civic volunteer Sanjay Roy as the prime accused of the heinous crime.
