Prasanta Ku. Dash Cuttack, Nov 15: A replica of the imposing Odisha High Court gate at the Cuttack Bali Yatra has caught the attention of visitors. The visitors are coming in large numbers to know about the law and the judiciary system. Especially children are thronging to know more about how the system works, who makes it work and what are the different organs of the judiciary. A red colour building made up of thick plaster-canvass, having dome-like entrances with the emblem of Ashoka Chakra has been the centre of attraction. {"id":226947,"sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none"} Apart from the outer structures, the inner decorum is more meaningful for the visitors. A long hall has been divided into a number of quarters and segments where the functioning of the Orissa High Court has been demonstrated in a number of comprehensive ways. The hall comprises a reception, Office of the Bar Council, courtyards, Judges' Chambers, Library, record rooms, Judicial Academy and many more segments, which are essential components of the Orissa High Court. At the main entrance of the replica, the statue of Utkal Gouraba Madhusudan Das has been installed. {"id":226948,"sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none"} At the end of one’s visit, a dedicated desk meant for seeking public opinion regarding the high court’s functions and functionaries is working. Visitors are thronging to the replica of the high court to have a virtual experience of the judiciary functioning. They keep their proposals and suggestions in the drop-box, how the services of the Orissa High Court will be extended for the outreach. However, most of them urge the District Council of Culture, and Cuttack district administration to install a model of the High Court in the Bali Yatra ground every year. {"id":226949,"sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none"} Educationist Ranjit Mohanty said Orissa High Court is the highest court of appellate jurisdiction in each state and the Union Territories of the nation. However, most of the people of the country have less possibility to know everything about it. It’s a dream for a layman to visit it physically. Showcasing a High Court Model in public festivals will boost one's knowledge on the Constitution of India. {"id":226950,"sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none"} Similarly, advocate Gyanendra Kumar Tripathy said the iconic model of the Orissa High Court, installed at the Bali Yatra ground is meaningful for every visitor. It’s an innovative concept of the government to sensitize public on legal aids and services.
