Record Budgetary allocations for Railway Projects across all states, says Vaishnaw

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that unprecedented budgetary allocations have been made for the Ministry of Railways to address pending projects and initiate new works aimed at benefiting the public across all states.

​​​​​​​New Delhi, February 2: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that unprecedented budgetary allocations have been made for the Ministry of Railways to address pending projects and initiate new works aimed at benefiting the public across all states.

In the Union Budget presented on Sunday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman allocated Rs 2.78 lakh crore in budgetary support, with a total capital expenditure of Rs 2.93 lakh crore for the Railways.

The budget also included proposals for seven high-speed rail corridors linking major cities and the establishment of a new East–West Dedicated Freight Corridor connecting Dankuni in West Bengal to Surat in Gujarat.
