Bhubaneswar: After keeping him stranded in his office for 12 hours, students finally released the Ravenshaw Vice-Chancellor at 4.30 am this morning.
Following widespread students’ unrest, Ravenshaw University authorities had on Monday announced to cancel the students’ union elections this year. In protest, students soon gheraoed the VC office and didn’t move out for 12 hours till 4.30 am on Tuesday.
Adequate police personnel have been deployed in the university campus now to ensure that no untoward incident occurs there.
It may be noted that students’ union elections were also not held in this institution last year for similar unrest in the campus.
