Puri, July 1: Amid the sound of cymbal, conch, and trumpet, the deities came out of the Puri Jagannath Temple for the Rath Yatra. The pahandi ritual of trinity began– Nandighosha for Lord Jagannatha and Madan Mohan, Debadalana Ratha for Devi Subhadra and Shri Chakraraj Sudarshan and Taladhwaja for Balabhadra Prabhu and Ramakrishna. Lord Sudarshan, considered to be the pilot god. He is taken to the chariot first and is followed by the Lord Balabhadra, and then Devi Subhadra, and lastly Lord Jagannath are taken out from the Inner Sanctum. Earlier, Mangala Alati and Mailama niti of Lord Jagannath were completed by 3.30 am. The other rituals are also going on in a smooth flow. Meanwhile the devotees have flock to Badadanda in large number to witness the annual sojourn of the Holy Trinity.
