Baripada, Nov 14: A rare hunch-back turtle has been spotted in Mayurbhanj on Sunday. Locals started worshiping it, believing it as a Shiv ling. Sources said Locals of Rangamatia village spotted a huge turtle from the bank of the Gadakhai River under Rairangpur forest division in the Mayurbhanj district. The turtle has a hunch-back on its upper shell like a Shiv ling which is elevated up to 5-inch height. Following this, it was carried to the village. Subsequently,  a crowd of people gathered in the village to wit and worship the turtle as the representative of lord Shiv. “We have never seen such a huge turtle especially with a shiv ling like a shell. It might have some divine significance related to lord Shiv or the Kachhap Avtar(Turtle incarnation) of God Bishnu”, said a nonagenarian of the locality.
