Bhubaneswar: Left-arm spinner Shams Mulani’s 6 for 115 haul helps Mumbai to enforce follow on against Odisha in the fourth round of Elite Group-A Ranji Trophy match at Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy, Mumbai on Friday.
Batting with the overnight score of 146 for 3, Odisha was bowled out for 285. Sandeep Pattnaik’s 102 runs added maximum to Odisha’s first innings total. Shams Mulani’s brilliant spell was key in Mumbai bundling out Odisha on day-3 after posting 602 for 4.
Batting again, Odisha were struggling at 115 for 6 after Mumbai decided to enforce the follow on. Mulani picked up the big wicket of Sandeep Pattnaik, the first-innings centurion.
At stumps, Odisha wicketkeeper-batter Aashirwad Swain (46 not out) was holding front. Odisha still trails by 191 runs and making Mumbai bat again will require a special innings from the lower order.
Brief Scores: Mumbai 602/4 decl Vs Odisha 285 in 94.3 overs (Sandeep Pattanaik 102; Shams Mulani 6/115) & 126/5 in 42 overs (F/O) (Aashirwad Swain 46 n.o; Himanshu Singh 3/45) trails by 191 runs.
