Odisha senior men's cricket team departs for Gujarat opener
Odisha's 17-member senior cricket squad has travelled to Gujarat for their opening Ranji Trophy match of the 2026-27 domestic season. Scheduled from October 11 to October 14, the four-day contest takes place at the Narendra Modi Stadium B Ground in Ahmedabad. The Odisha Cricket Association officially announced the travelling party, which features a balanced mix of batting and bowling talent. Key players include Swastik Samal, Sandeep Pattanaik, and versatile all-rounder Ninad Rathva, supported by wicket-keepers Aashirwad Swain and Dinesh Majhi. On the bowling front, pacers Rajesh Mohanty and Prashant Rana will lead the attack, alongside left-arm spinners Sayed Tufayl Ahmad and Badal Biswal. Head Coach Pravanjan Mullick and Assistant Coach Preetamjeet Das are guiding the state team on this important tour.
Following the Gujarat encounter, Odisha will head to Thiruvananthapuram to challenge Kerala starting October 18. The squad will subsequently return to home ground for consecutive games against Services and Jharkhand at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Stadium in Bhubaneswar. Later in the season, Odisha will test their skills against Delhi, Maharashtra, and Bengal across various venues.
