​​​​​​​Cuttack, Oct 5:As a preventive measure to check further escalation following the violent crash in Cuttack, 36-hour curfew was imposed in the city on Sunday.

The Commissionerate Police announced the curfew in as many as 13 police station areas of the city from 10 PM tonight, in a bid to control further unrest and ensure peace.

Twin-City Police Commissioner S Dev Datta Singh informed that the curfew will remain in force from 10 PM tonight till next 36 hours in Dargah Bazaar, Manglabag, Cantonment, Purighat, Lalbag, Bidanasi, Markatnagar, CDA Phase-II, Malgodown, Badambadi, Jagatpur, Bayalish Mouza, and Sadar police station limits.

Essential provisions have been made to ensuring public safety and to facilitate emergency services during the peak hours. Armed forces are also conducting flag march in the city to crop further provocation, Singh added.
