Bhubaneswar, Oct 7: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning over several parts of Odisha in the coming days. According to the latest bulletin, both western and coastal regions of the state are likely to witness thundershowers, particularly on Tuesday.
Districts such as Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati may experience rainfall with lightning and thunder on October 8.
The IMD has also predicted similar weather conditions for October 8, 9, and 10 across several areas of interior and coastal Odisha, urging residents to stay alert, especially in regions prone to lightning strikes.
On Monday, Paradip recorded the highest rainfall in the state, receiving 70 mm of precipitation.
The Met Department has advised the public and local authorities to take necessary precautions and remain updated with official weather advisories.
