Raikia, Sept 25: Acting on a tip-off, Raikia police successfully intercepted a private bus named Balloon allegedly transporting ganja from Raikia to Bhubaneswar. During the operation, police seized 20 kilograms and 150 grams of ganja from the vehicle and arrested one staff member of the bus.

Sources revealed that the contraband was being transported discreetly aboard the private bus. Based on prior intelligence, police stopped the vehicle and carried out a thorough search. While no passengers were found to be directly linked to the illegal transportation, a staff member of the bus was taken into custody for further investigation.

Additional Tehsildar Dillip Behera also reached the spot following the incident and assisted police officials in the formal seizure of the narcotics.

An investigation is currently underway to trace the origin and intended recipients of the seized ganja.
