Bhubaneswar, July 10: The Commissionerate Police drew out the traffic regulation plan and vigil ahead of Rahul Gandhi’s Odisha visit, scheduled tomorrow.
In order to ensure smooth movement for the public and commuters in the State Capital during the LoP’s visit, the police authorities have issued essential traffic advisory, for public conveyance.
According to police assessment, from 10.00 AM to 12 Noon, a heavy traffic congestion is expected on the stretch from Airport Chhak to Jaydev Vihar Chhak (viz Capital Hospital Chhak-AG Chhak-Raj Bhawan Chhak-Power House Chhak-120 Battalion Chhak-Shastri Nagar Chhak-Behera Sahi Chhak) and vice versa.
Similarly, from 1.30 PM to 2.00 PM, the traffic congestion is expected to go up in and around the Baramunda Chhak to Hotel Mayfair (viz Jaydev Vihar Chhak) and its adjoining areas.
Apart from it, more traffic congestion is expected on the stretch from Hotel Mayfair to Master Canteen Chhak (viz Jaydev Vihar Chhak-Behera Sahi Chhak-Shastri Nagar Chhak-120 Battalion Chhak-Power House Chhak-Raj Bhawan Chhak-AG Chhak-PMG Chhak) and its adjoining areas by 3.00 PM to 3.30 PM.
From 4.00 PM to 5.00 PM: Traffic congestion is expected on the stretch from Master Canteen Chhak to Airport Chhak (viz PMG Chhak-AG Chhak-Capital Hospital Chhak) and its adjoining areas.
“Commuters are advised to plan their route accordingly and take alternate routes wherever possible to avoid inconvenience. For smooth traffic management during this period, cooperation from the general public is solicited,” Twin City Police Commissioner Suresh Dev Datta Singh appealed in an official post on X handle.
According to official sources, a 'roadshow' from Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) Square to Jaydev Vihar will be conducted by the Odisha Congress during Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Bhubaneswar.
Rajya Sabha MP, LoP & AICC President, Mallikarjun Kharge, will accompany Rahul during the visit. A plethora of programs are also scheduled by Congress here, aiming the party’s upliftment across the state.
