Patna, August 16: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will launch the ‘Vote Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar on Sunday, aimed at drawing attention to alleged vote irregularities in the ongoing special revision of the state’s electoral rolls, a senior party leader said.
Former Bihar Congress chief and Rajya Sabha MP Akhilesh Prasad Singh told reporters that Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, will flag off the yatra from Sasaram on August 17. The campaign will continue for over two weeks and culminate with a rally in Patna on September 1.
“All required permissions have been secured. The yatra is expected to energize the INDIA bloc in the run-up to the assembly elections,” Singh added.
