Puri, May 18: Odisha is striving hard to provide better medical care to Covid-19 patients in the state. It is all set to inaugurate a new Covid hospital at Shree Jagannath Medical College hostel in Puri on PPP mode on May 19.
SUM Hospital, Bhubaneswar will execute the project.
The hospital will have 150 beds with 20 ventilator, 40 HDU ward equipped with 90 units of oxygen cylinders. State Planning Board Vice-Chairman Sanjay Das Burma has chaired a meeting regarding launching of the hospital after taking stock of the medical facility. Puri District Collector Samarth Verma, additional Collector Binay Kumar Das were also present in the meeting.
Moreover, sophisticated ambulance will be at work in each blocks.
Covid Health Care Centers will be established in 11 blocks of the district.
An average of 400 patients are being treated daily in the district. As of April, 56713 people have been tested positive for the virus in the district.
Odisha has been a leader in tackling the Covid-19 pandemic providing better healthcare services.
