Puri schools closed for President Droupadi Murmu's visit & Navy Day celebrations

Puri, Dec 4: The District Education Office (DEO) has announced the closure of all educational institutions in the Puri Municipality area in view of President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to Puri and the Navy Day celebrations today.
The DEO Deepak Kumar Padhi confirmed that both government and private schools, including those on the outskirts such as Mother’s Public School in Gorual, Prabhushree English Medium School, Chandrasekhar Academy, and St. Xavier Higher Secondary School in Biraharekrushnapur, will remain closed for the day.
However, the PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024 exam, conducted by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), will proceed as scheduled.
The exam is being held from 7 am to 12 noon at centers within the Puri Municipality. Students appearing for the national-level exam are advised to arrive at their centers before 7 am and stay until after 12 noon.
For all other students, schools in the municipality area will remain closed.
President Droupadi Murmu will visit Puri to pay her respects at the Shri Jagannath Temple today.
The President will also participate in the 75th-anniversary celebrations of Gopabandhu Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya. As part of her visit, she will attend the grand Navy Day celebrations, which will feature a series of exciting demonstrations, including naval maneuvers, combat drills, and aerial displays.
These events are set to take place at Blue Flag Beach, where the Indian Navy will showcase its strength and operational capabilities. The Navy Day celebrations promise to be an impressive display of India’s maritime might, honoring the country’s naval forces and their role in safeguarding the nation’s waters.
