<strong>Puri Rath Yatra: Lord Jagannath’s chariot ‘Nandighosha’ reaches Gundicha temple</strong>

Puri, June 1: Lord Jagannath’s chariot ‘Nandighosha’ reached the Gundicha temple in the evening. With this, the Rath Yatra, the first day of the nine-day sojourn concluded after devotees in lakhs pulled the chariots from Srimandir to Gundicha temple amid the chants of 'Hari Bol' and beating of cymbals. Earlier, the chariots of Lord Balabhadra (Taladhwaja) and Devi Subhadra (Darpadalan) were pulled to the Gundicha temple by a sea of devotees, who gathered at the grand road to have a glimpse of the deities. The deities would remain in the chariots till tomorrow evening. Some important rituals relating to the second day of the annual sojourn of the Trinity will be performed.
