Puri Jagannath temple to remain closed for three days

Puri, Dec 30: Puri Jagannath temple will remain closed for the devotees consecutively for three days from tomorrow. Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) and the Chhatisa Nijog have unanimously decided it on Thursday. According to the decisions, Shree Mandir will remain closed for the visitors on December 31, January 1 and January 2 .ahead of the zero night and New Year’s Day celebrations. However, Puja and other rituals will be normally performed by the servitors. Worth mentioning, thousands of devotees congregate in Puri shrine every year, in order to have darshan of the Trinity on the eve of December 31 and New Year’s Day. Anticipating a surge of Corona and Omicron infection on the occasions, the district and temple administration have imposed restrictions for the visitors.
