Puri: Devotees not allowed to touch deities during Snana Jatra

Puri, May 25: Devotees are not allowed to touch the deities during the Snana Jatra scheduled on June 14. It was revealed after a meeting of the Sri Jagannath Temple Administration(SJTA) with the district officials, Chhatisa Nijog and servitors of Sri Jagannath temple on Wednesday. According to the resolutions unanimously noted down here, common devotees are allowed for darshan of the Snana Jatra on the Snana Mandap during the whole Jalalagi rituals. However, no devotees will be allowed to touch Sri Jagannath, Balabhadra, Subhadra and Sudarshan during the annual Grand-bath of the Trinity. Worth mentioning, no devotees were allowed to witness the holy rituals in Puri Jagannath temple since the last two years duo to the restrictions imposed in view of the Corona pandemic. It’s why, locals and the devotees from across the state have expressed their gratitude to the SJTA authorities.
