Puri, Dec 2:The Puri district administration, on Wednesday, conducted a preparatory meeting for tackling the possible cyclone ‘Jawad’. In a virtual meeting led by Puri Collector Samarth Verma, the district administration reviewed several strategies regarding the incoming cyclone ‘Jawad’ threat. Verma directed the administration to cancel the leaves of every government servant in order to face any untoward eventuality caused by the disaster. He also directed the doctors, fire-fighters and power supply department, Rural Development and Public Works Department (PWD) to be prepared for the possible cyclone. Meanwhile, the administration has advised the fishermen to avoid going into the sea and asked the public to store dry food, medicines, drinking water, and other essentials. As per reports, the administration has also set up Cyclone shelters in various areas of the district.
