Puri, Aug 28: In the wake of a possible third Covid wave and its impact on children, Puri district administration has made special arrangements at district headquarters hospital (DHH) and IDH hospital for the treatment of virus infected minors. The district administration has also arranged special bed facilities at these hospitals for children.
According to reports, as many as 40 beds have been made available at the IGH hospital and 16 beds with isolation facilities have been arranged at the DHH. Moreover, at least four beds have been reserved for the minor at the DHH. The district administration has also asked the hospital authorities to stock actuate number of medicine for the minors.
This apart, the district administration has formed a special RRT team to monitor the minors undergoing treatment at home. “ The doctors will be given paediatric management training through a virtual mode,” said an official.
Worth mentioning, as many as 19 children have tested positive for the virus in the past 10 days.
The Gajapati district administration has also geared up to tackle the possible Covid-19 third wave. The Collector has ordered the authorities to make dedicate Covid hospitals functional across the district.
