Public Sector Bank employees call for strike on December 16,17

New Delhi, Dec 3: The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) called for a 2-day strike opposing privatization of Public Sector Banks(PSUs). UFBU has submitted a memorandum to the Bank Authorities in this connection. Acting against the Banking Laws (Amendment) Bill,2021 which is going to be brought up this winter session, the Public Sector Bank employees have scheduled the strike on December 16 and December 17. Sanjay Das, General Secretary of All India Bank Officers Confederation (AIBOC), said that privatizing PSBs will hurt the priority sectors of the economy and also credit flow to self-help groups and to the rural economy. BKU leader, Rakesh Tikait on Twitter said, there is a need for a common movement across the country against privatization of the PSBs,” Members of UFBU including All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA), All India Bank Officers' Confederation (AIBOC), National Confederation of Bank Employees (NCBE), All India Bank Officers' Association (AIBOA) and Bank Employees Confederation of India (BEFI) have been united for the mover against the Government decision.
