Puri, Dec 18: The public darshan of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra at Puri Srimandir will be restricted from 2:30pm to 6pm for ‘Diba Pahuda Niti’ today.
This ritual performed daily, has been limited to a one-time observance due to an anticipated surge of devotees and ongoing repair work at the temple’s Ratna Bhandar.
The decision was made during the Chhattisa Nijog meeting held on December 10, 2024. As part of the repair project, a 20-foot iron scaffolding has been erected inside the Bhitar Ratna Bhandar to assist skilled artisans from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in addressing structural cracks.
The repair work will pause today for the Diba Pahuda Niti. It will resume the following day with tasks including lime plaster removal and the replacement of cracked stones with high-quality stones from Nilagiri.
Devotees are advised to plan their temple visits accordingly, as public darshan will be suspended from 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm today following the second Bhoga Mandap offering.
