Malkangiri, Dec 21: The journalists on Tuesday held a discussion with state government’s media advisor Manas Ranjan Mangaraj over the arrest of five journalists in Malkangiri.
Mangaraj had a telephonic interaction with the journalists. They discussed several issues that the journalists of the region are facing.
Mangaraj has reportedly assured that he will talk with the state government about the unfair arrest of the five journalists and the injustice that they have faced.
Notably, Malkangiri Police conducted a late night raid to arrest five journalists for allegedly manhandling doctors who were on duty at a community health centre.
Meanwhile, a group of journalists and others on Tuesday staged a demonstration in Bhubaneswar protesting against the arrest of the five journalists.
Condemning the police excess on the working journalists, the scribes’ body submitted a demand letter to the Odisha DGP addressing the Chief Minister.
