Wayanad, October 19: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi, the United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate, is set to file her nomination for the Wayanad parliamentary by-polls on October 23.
Former Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi will accompany his sister during the nomination filing, which will be preceded by a roadshow.
Priyanka Gandhi's candidature, approved by Congress on October 15, comes after the Election Commission of India announced the by-poll schedule.
The Wayanad seat was vacated by Rahul Gandhi after he was also elected from Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, in the general elections earlier this year.
If elected, Priyanka Gandhi will become the third member of the Gandhi family in the current Parliament.
She has expressed her commitment to continue her long-standing ties with Raebareli and Amethi while representing Wayanad, promising to be a strong presence for the constituency.
Wayanad will vote on November 13, coinciding with assembly by-polls in 47 seats across 15 states and the first phase of Jharkhand assembly elections.
