
New Delhi, Oct 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the 9th edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025 on Wednesday at 9:45 a.m. at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in Dwarka, Delhi. The event is Asia’s largest telecom, media, and technology gathering.
Organized by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), the four-day conference will run from October 8 to 11 under the theme ‘Innovate to Transform.’ The theme emphasizes India's growing role in spearheading digital transformation and leveraging innovation for societal and economic advancement.
IMC 2025 will bring together global leaders, policymakers, industry experts, and innovators to showcase the latest developments in telecom and emerging technologies. Focus areas will include next-gen technologies such as 6G, quantum communications, semiconductors, optical networks, and cyber fraud prevention, highlighting India's efforts to enhance its position in digital security and connectivity.
More than 400 companies, around 7,000 global delegates, and over 150,000 visitors from over 150 countries are expected to attend the event. IMC 2025 will also feature over 1,600 new technology use cases, covering areas like 5G, 6G, AI, smart mobility, cybersecurity, quantum computing, and green technology.
In addition, more than 100 sessions and 800 speakers from around the world will participate in the event. IMC 2025 will also provide a platform for strengthening India's international collaborations, with delegations from countries including Japan, Canada, the UK, Russia, Ireland, and Austria.
The event will further solidify India’s leadership role in global digital transformation and its growing influence in the global telecom and technology ecosystem.
Ahead of the inauguration, Union Minister for Communications, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, visited the venue on Monday to oversee final preparations. Scindia also symbolically traveled to the venue via the Airport Metro, showcasing India’s commitment to sustainable and modern urban transport solutions.
