Prez, PM Modi extend greetings on Utkala Dibasa, hail Odisha's heritage, contributions in freedom movement

Bhubaneswar, April 1: President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended greetings to the people of Odisha on the occasion of Utkala Dibasa, marking the formation of the State.

The President lauded Odisha's rich cultural legacy, its contributions to India's freedom movement, and the dedication of its people towards nation-building, wishing the state continued prosperity and well-being.

"Warm greetings to the people of Odisha on Odisha Day! This occasion celebrates the state’s rich cultural heritage, timeless traditions, and the resilience of its people. Odisha’s invaluable contribution to India’s freedom struggle and nation-building continues to inspire all of us. Its talented and hardworking people are playing a significant role in the journey of Viksit Bharat. I pray to Mahaprabhu Shree Jagannath for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of Odisha," posted Rashtrapati Bhavan on ‘X’.

Prime Minister Modi highlighted Odisha's rich cultural heritage and applauded the contributions of its people in various fields, wishing the state continued growth and prosperity.

"Greetings on the special occasion of Utkala Dibasa. Odisha is a state that stands tall as a timeless symbol of cultural as well as spiritual greatness. Odia music, art and literature have enriched India in countless ways. The people of Odisha, known for their determination, simplicity and warmth, have made remarkable contributions across fields. May Odisha keep scaling new heights of progress in the times to come," he posted on X.

Vice President CP Radhakirshnan also extended greeting to the people of Odisha and hailed the State’s glorious history.

“Warm greetings to the people of Odisha on the occasion of Odisha Day. This day is a celebration of the State’s glorious cultural legacy, rich traditions and the indomitable spirit of its people. May the State march ahead on the path of peace, prosperity and progress, and contribute significantly to the vision of Viksit Bharat,” the Vice President’s Secretariat posted on ‘X’.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended greetings to the fellow citizens on this occasion too. “On this historic day marking the formation of the Separate Odisha Province, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all Odia brothers and sisters residing in the country and abroad,” said Majhi in a video message.

Taking to ‘X’, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, wrote, “Greetings to the sisters and brothers of Odisha on Odisha Day. Blessed with a rich cultural heritage and divine blessings of Lord Jagannath, Odisha shines as India's pride. May the state touch new heights of progress and prosperity in the journey towards a Viksit Bharat.”

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also took to ‘X’ to extend greetings. “Heartfelt greetings of 'Odisha Day' to all my brothers and sisters of Odisha and the entire Odia community living across the world,” Pradhan wrote.
