Bhubaneswar, Oct 3: Premcahnd Horo of Sambalpur was one of the winners of the individual awards in the recently concluded Odisha Junior Hockey Champions organized by the Hockey Association of Odisha in Bhubaneswar. Born in a marginal farmer's family, the 14-year-old hockey player of non-descript Nuapalli village under Rabagaon panchayat in Sambalpur district dreams to represent the national team. He was practising under the guidance of coach Ramesh Panigrahy. "I had never expected to be awarded in the Junior Hockey Champions. It is a great achievement for me that has boosted my morale," said Horo. I am more focused on Dragflick. If I get a chance to be trained at Sundargarh Sai Hostel or Panposh Sports Hostel in Rourkela it would be better for my career, said the blooming hockey player. Premchand is very strong in Dragflick like Sandeep Singh. Despite pratising in the field, his performance on turf was very good. He has a bright future but needs better fostering by the sports department, said coach Panigrahy.
