Prayed to Maa Taratarini for well being of the people: CM Naveen Patnaik

Chhatrapur, May 18: Odisha is the land of Gods and the tradition of ‘Shakti Puja’ is very old. I have prayed to Maa Taratarini, the presiding deity of Ganjam, for well being of the people of the state, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik who was on a visit to Maa Taratarini Temple.

CM Naveen today dedicated the newly constructed magnificent temple which is built in the style of Kalinga to the devotees in an inauguration ceremony held today. The ceremony witnessed a spiritual atmosphere as the chanting of holy hymns echoed the atmosphere.

Servitors of Puri Jagannath Temple, Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar, Maa Samaleshwari Temple, Sri Baldev Jiu Temple in Kendrapara, and other temples across the state were present at the inauguration ceremony.

Patnaik described the day as a holy day and thanked everyone for their cooperation in this work as the construction work was completed without any disturbances.

He praised the new look and feel of the temple and stated that this is expected to attract more devotees and tourists alike. Thereafter, he called on everyone to work together on the basis of peace and cooperation for the development of Ganjam.

CM Patnaik inaugurated various development projects for devotees and tourists and also laid the foundation stone for the development of the Rishikulya River.

Earlier, devotees used to go to the temple by climbing stairs but now there is a facility of the ropeway, and roads have also been constructed for the convenience of the devotees.
