Pradhan unhappy over derailment of LTT Exp

Bhubaneswar: As eight coaches of the Mumbai-Bhubaneswar Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) Express derailed near Neigundi in Cuttack today, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan expressed unhappiness over the accident.

“Pained to learn about the accident of Mumbai-Bhubaneswar LTT Express in Cuttack. Relieved that no lives have been lost in the mishap. Rescue operations are underway and all efforts are being made to ensure the safety of passengers. Pray for the early recovery of those injured,” tweeted Pradhan.

According to sources, about eight coaches of the LTT derailed after hitting a standing train between Salagaon and Nergundi possibly due to dense fog. While five coaches derailed, three other coaches partially displaced from the tracks.

Five were critically injured identified as Jitendra Padhi, Puspanjali Jatwar, Purnachandra Nayak, Sarat Chandra Behera and Aswini Kumar Lenka sent to SCB Medical for treatment.
