Bhubaneswar, Oct 24: Former Nabarangpur MP Pradeep Majhi, who recently resigned from Congress, will join the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD).
Majhi announced his next move at a press conference in Nabarangpur today.
Lauding the work done by the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and BJD, Majhi said, “BJD provided a stable government in the state. My aim is to serve the people of the state and strengthen Patnaik’s hand.”
Giving the reason for his resignation from the Congress, Majhi said that there was no scope of work left for him in Congress.
“The party has almost lost its credibility which may take a long time to revive. I have a great desire to serve my people at whatever position I am, which is now lacking in the Congress party,” Majhi had informed in his resignation letter.
Notably, Majhi, the working president of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC), has resigned from the primary membership of the grand-old party on October 22.
