Mumbai, August 19: Passengers of a monorail train in Mumbai stranded for hours on Tuesday after instant power outage in the locomotive.
The Monorail train came to a sudden halt in the evening between Mysore Colony and Bhakti Park stations.
The incident took place on the elevated corridor creating problem for the passengers to deboard.
Railway rescue crew and fire tenderers initiated operation, to deboard all the passengers stuck en-route.
According to a release issued by Mumbai Monorail authorities, the disruption was caused by a “minor power supply issue”. The technical snag left the coaches immobile, forcing authorities to step in with an urgent evacuation plan.
According to sources incessant rain stood as hindrance during evacuation of commuters. However, the saviors succeeded in their mission as they deboarded all passengers using power ladders.
