Power department sets up War-Room ahead of Cyclone Asani

Bhubaneswar, May 6: Odisha Power Minister and Department’s Secretary have rolled out a War Room ahead of possible Cyclone Asani on Friday. The War Room will respond to the complaints of the customers on a war footing at the time of the Cyclone, said Power Minister, Captain Dibyashankar Mishra, and Secretary Nikunja Bihari Dhal, while addressing press personnel in view of managing the probable Cyclone Asali in the afternoon. Mishra said the department is well prepared to face every untoward situation with its response, as quick as possible. The department will restore the power supply within a few hours after destruction or accidental power cut. Briefing the preparedness of the department, Dhal said,” we are almost ready to manage the pre-cyclone, cyclone, and post-cyclone scenarios with all the essential logistics, as previously learned from Cyclones Fanny, Hudhud, and Yash. Mobilization of technical staff with conveyance has been readied for a quick response to public complaint.” Apart from it the department has made elaborate arrangements in hospitals, drinking water projects, and other power indispensable units for uninterrupted power supply despite every adversity, Dhal added.
