Bhubaneswar, May 21: With a vision to care the Corona affected orphans, the Women and Child Development and Mission Shakti Department have launched a 24x7 helpline number to expedite their care. The Principal Secretary to Women & Child Development Department Anu Garg has written a letter to the district level officers in this connection on Thursday. Helpline numbers, particularly 104, 1098 and 1800-34-4494 have been dedicated to provide emergency need of Corona hit orphans and destitute. Three special helpdesks have been formed to source information on the orphans those are stressed or distressed due to Corona. Common men and volunteers can provide inform to the Childline, Protection of Child Rights Commission and the Child Development officials directly. Accordingly, the kid in distress would be recovered and rehabilitated in the Child Care Centres situated in every district. They will undergo proper care, health check up and regular counseling. Notably, the department has rescued as many as four orphans and nourishing them properly after they were discovered in distressed state due to Corona.
