Poor waste management 'risks' spreading of dengue in Jatni

Bhubaneswar, Aug 1: The waste management failure in Jatni area has elevated the risk of spreading Dengue, alleged locals. According to locals, huge quantity of garbage are being seen lying along the roads and drains are found to be over flowing . The citizens worry that if this continues, soon the area can become prone to diseases like dengue and other infections. The mismanagement in drainage system has led the drain water to over flow on the road following which the commuters have to daily cross the stagnant water for movement inside the city. The locals alleged that when they complain about these problems to the municipality authorities, the personnel in charge ask them to go to the police station and file a complaint in this regard. When asked about the same, the Municipal officer said that, “arrangements have been made to process the wet garbage and soon we will lift the wastage from the roads.”
