Paralakhemundi, Oct 12: Bidyabharati Panda, the wife of former Paralakhemundi ACF Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra told lies in connection with the mysterious death of her husband, said Odisha Crime Branch. Concluding the investigation process of Soumya’s suspicious death, the investigating agency framed charges against Bidyabharati as she deliberately told lies during the polygraph test conducted at the State Forensic Laboratory. According to the press note released by the Crime Branch, Bidyabharati had been asked a set of questions on Soumya’s death. She was asked about her personal and marital life and her relationship with her husband. Finally, she was questioned on the circumstances of the burning episode and her activities after the mishap. Particularly, the Crime Branch team asked Bidyabharati as to how she doused fire from Soumaya’s body, seeing him charred critically. In response, Bidyabharati said that she went to the tap with a bucket to fetch water and sprinkle over her husband, but in vain as her saree stuck to the tap and subsequently, she fell down. However, her answers to the repeated question were detected lie in the polygraph devices. Basing on the test report, it was ascertained that Bidyabharati was not so serious to rescue her husband from the accident.
