Political parties start inducting grassroots leaders ahead of Panchayat elections

Bhubaneswar, Aug 10: Ahead of the Panchayat elections scheduled to be held next year, major political parties have started inducting grassroots-level leaders into their folds to strengthen their organizational base. Both BJP and BJD on Tuesday inducted several grassroots level leaders. The ruling BJD claimed that hundreds of workers from Congress and BJP including Sarpanchs, Samiti members and Zila Parishad members from Tangi and Jatani areas of Khurdha district joined the party in the presence of senior leaders. BJD organizational secretary Pranab Prakash Das, senior leaders Debi Prasad Mishra, Pratap Jena, Pramila Mallick and several MLAs were present on the occasion. {"align":"center","id":129614,"sizeSlug":"full","linkDestination":"none"} Similarly, the BJP welcomed several BJD and Congress workers from Sundargarh and Sambalpur districts. Among others, BJP senior leaders Kusum Tete, Rabi Narayan Naik and Tankadhar Tripathy were present on the occasion.
