Athgarh, June 24:Odisha Police on Tuesday resorted to Lathi charge in Athgarh Town following a face off between two political groups.
BNS 163 was also clamped here as a preventive measure, to hold further escalation.
According to report, a clash between BJP and BJD workers erupted before the Athgarh Block Office in the afternoon. Despite police interventions, both the teams pelted stones on each other and created chaos on the spot. Police, in order to check the escalation, resorted to a mild lathi charge. Meanwhile, preventive BNS 163 was imposed in the Athgarh Town, to deal with further escalation.
