Policeman misbehaves with woman in Jajpur; probe ordered

Jajpur, April 3: A police officer allegedly misbehaved a woman complainant at Jhumpuri Beat House under Mangalapur police station in Jajpur. Acting on the woman’s allegation, Jajpur SP has ordered a probe into the allegation. The complainant, a resident of Katikata village alleged that police officer Bijay Kumar Swain, the in-charge of Jhumpuri Beat House, misbehaved with her. As per the complaint lodged by the woman, she had been to Jhumpuri beat house on March 16 regarding a land dispute.She met the in-charge officer Bijay Kumar Swain and put forth her grievances. However, Swain ignored the main complaint, rather started silly talks with her. Ultimately he drove out her family members from his chamber and misbehaved with the woman. Being aggrieved, the woman lodged a complaint before the Superintendent of Police, Jajpur P R Rahul. Acting on the complaint, the S.P entrusted Additional S.P Bauribandhu Behera to investigate into the allegation. Accordingly, an investigating team initiated its inquiry on Friday.
