Puri police registers case against Amazon India for selling ‘Nirmalya’

Puri, Nov 30: A complaint has been lodged at Singhadwar Police Station here against e-commerce platform Amazon for selling the ‘Nirmalya’ of Lord Jagannath on its portal.
Complainant, servitor Sambhunath Khuntia alleged that Amazon India has been selling ‘Nirmalya’ on its website with prices ranging from Rs 59 to 499 which is not allowed by the temple administration.
Khuntia has also apprised the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) about the sale.
We have registered a case against Amazon India and investigation is on, said police.
