Police, dacoits exchange fire in Jeypore; 1 nabbed

Bhubaneswar: In another such incident, police and dacoits exchanged fire for a few minutes at Lingaraj Nagar in Jeypore town in Koraput district last night.
While an infamous dacoit, Seikh Javed, was nabbed, his two associates managed to flee away from the spot. The police seized a revolver, two live bullets and a mobile from Javed.
According to reports, the team was trying to commit a dacoity when the police patrolling team approached them and asked them to surrender. However, they opened fire at the police. Then an exchange of fire ensued between them for some minutes, said reports.
