Police body threatens agitation from January 28

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Havildar, Constable and Sepoy Confederation today threatened to go on strike from January 28 demanding fulfilment of four-point charter of demands, including implementation of Seventh Pay Commission recommendations. Confederation president in a press conference said that while state-level office bearers will stage demonstration in the State capital district-level office bearers will hold protest rallies in district levels across the State. The demands include implementation of Seventh Pay Commission recommendations, job regularisation of contractual cops and fulfilment of vacant posts in district levels. “We urge the Government to consider our genuine demands. We are working at the grassroots levels ensuring peace and harmony. Our grievances should be addressed at the earliest,” said the president, adding that if the Government fails to do so they will be resorted to agitation from January 28.
